It was time again, the autumn colour [paradise] had been painted. Like every year, just georgeous.
I did an upgrade of my gear in September last year. This was the first time I went out with my Sigma 17-50 2.8 lens. I always wanted a wide-aperture lens on short focal length and so far, I am happy with it.
The scene was breathtaking and magical. Totally worth the early start of the day.
5 stars, would definitely recommend.
A must see on Madeira. Were thinking many others too.
I was expecting a few others and their cars up there. In reality, hundreds of people were there and all together we sat like in an ancient amphitheatre, and were watching the sun slowly rising.
One of th ethings on Madeira I was keen on:
Sunrise above the clouds. Early morning ride through the darkness up to Pico Arieiro, hoping for clouds. Felt happy to see them upon arrival.

As all the years before, autumn paints this hillside red. And again, it’s just gorgeous.
Same procedure as every fall. This wonderfull accumulation of smoke trees is wearing deep red again.
Did I already mention the awesomeness of this smoke tree accumulation in Jena? And did I also mention the beer garden at the end of the trail? No? You should definitely visit both!
