  • Little Trabant adventures

Sorry for not posting lately. I somehow got lost in social media. Posting on Instagram and then I forget to post it here. Should think about using IFTTT to streamline such activities.

Not that spectacular right now, as winter has come and we got plenty of snow here as well. But the little Trabant has been with me at Weißsee Gletscherwelt last summer. Hopefully its journey will continue.

  • Snowmelt

Snowmelt of freshly fallen snow making its way down the slope. Photo was taken in the Stubach Valley.

  • Krimml Falls

Been there for the 4th time in my life and it is still breathtaking. Picture shows the lower fall of the water cascade of Krimml. Big advantage of the weather was, the spraying water coult not do any harm to us. We were already soaked through caused by the weather.

  • Heidi Land

Also taken in the Stubach Valley. So calm, so gorgeous. Imagine this scene on a blue sky summer day. Must be awesome.

  • Grünsee

Another lake picture. Did not know I have been to a lake area instead of the Alps. The Grünsee is part of the Weißsee Gletscherwelt at the end of the gorgeous Stubach valley, located in the High Tauern National Park.

Many hiking trails of different length, all are embedded in a breathtaking landscape and peaceful nature are inviting for a trip of your choice. If your trip ends in the Stubachtal again, make sure to stop by the “Alpengasthof Paletti” and try their Kaiserschmarrn. You won’t regret.

  • Klammsee

Another one taken on the trip to Austria. Usually the Glockner Group would have been visible at the end of the valley. Due to the weather it was not. Not really surprising. The photo did not turn out that bad anyway. I like the trees and their reflection on the right hand side.

  • Kaprun High Mountain Reserviores

    IMG_4825

Dam and lake Wasserfallboden as seen from lake Mooserboden. Both lakes are forming the high mountain reserviores of Kaprun. Caused by the unfortunate weather I was not able to have a look at the surrounding summits (Kitzsteinhorn, Großes Wiesbachhorn etc.)

But hey, fresh snow and walking in the clouds! The photo was taken pretty much at 2000 m above sea level.

  • Frozen Summer

This photo perfectly describes my summer vacation this year. With its 2304m above sea level, this spot is a great starting point for hiking trips – if it would have been snowless. Lucky as I was, I got 10cm of fresh snow and a temperature slightly below zero. It would have been refreshing, if it was hot down in the valley. But it wasnt. Summer vacation in Austria this year: autumn with a touch of winter.
