  • Acropolis Rallye of Gods 2024 – Day 2

    For the Saturday of this years Acropolis Rallye of Greece, I went to an already known spot in the Loutraki area at the Gulf of Corinth. Or as I call it the “Valley of snakes”. Not that I have ever seen a snake there, it is just a running gag within the group of travellers. The stage’S surface is pretty rough. I have seen many punctures, ripped of tyres, broken rims and lost body work of the cars.

    Upper three pictures were taken on SS9, the lower three on SS11. Again, the same stage, driven twice.

     

  • Acropolis Rallye of Gods 2024 – Day 1


     
     

    A set of pictures I took on day 1 of this years Acropolis Rallye of Greece, the Rally of Gods. All photos where taken on stages 1 and 4, which actual is one stage, driven twice.

    I wasn’t the best place for taking photos but the scenery was quite nice. Up in the mountains near the village of Pavliani. Usually you won’t think about green mountains, full of forrest when thinking about Greece. At least not in first place.

    Esapekka Lappi drifting by. Again, 2023 Acropolis Rallye of Gods (in Greece). This time on stage 11 (Karoutes 2), which was the same as stage 8 on the pictures before. Just a different spot for me, 400 meters up the road.

    As you might know, there is always a purpose behind travelling to rallyes: taking pictures in the dust. It all started at the 2006 Acropolis Rallye of Greece, went over to Rally Italia Sardegna on the beautiful island of Sardinia and in this year I finally went back to the Rallye of Gods in Greece.
    In this picture: Thierry Neuville in his Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC at stage 8 on Saturday morning. This stage was near the town of Itea, located on the north coast of the Gulf of Corinth.

    After 3 years of not visiting any rallye event, I went to Sardinia again to see the Rally d’Italia Sardegna. This is later rallye winner Ott Tänak passing by.
