Those are the evenings I really miss when it is getting fall now. Summer fields glowing golden while the sun sets.

Back in the days when we had summer. This one was done on a really hot day and I did the best one could do, went swimming. Place to be was the so called “Thuringian Sea”, Lake Hohenwarte.

Unlike other Instagram posts, this photo has not been retouched by using colours or increasing the dramatic look. This was the sky just before a mid June thunderstorm hit us in the afternoon. Strange view.

Even though the idea isn’t new, it looks great and it fits perfect in here. Floating umbrellas above the famous Krämerbrücke in the medieval downtown Erfurt seen on the occasion of 2014’s Krämerbrückenfest which is the annual city festival.

Time goes by too fast. I still haven’t touched alle the photos taken in 2013. I slowly crawl through all of them and will finish them. One day.
On the other hand I’m sometimes not sure in which way the different pictures I take should be published. Traditional way is to shoot with the camera, develop them on a computer (or in a lab in between) and publish them here first and sharing them on social media afterwards. But today, I photograph all that daily stuff with a smartphone and puplish the result instantly. If they have an art character, they will appear on Instagram first and maybe Twitter and Facebook afterwards. As I don’t use it frequently, most photos will not appear on Google+ or Tumblr. And the platforms I like most are completely bypassed by my smartphone photography: This website, DeviantArt and Flickr.
As already done on the posts before, I will repost particular photos of my Instagram stream here as well.
This photo here was taken on the way to Oberhof in December last year. The only snow I have seen this winter and we went there for an afternoon in the snow. Was fun!
Another one taken during yesterday’s summer storm. Different direction, less lightning but more drama in the clouds around. (10s, f10, ISO 400 – just in case you are interested)
Only one day of somewhat like summer and it ends with the first summer storm this year. Lucky enough to catch some lightning.

A few years ago I made some nice photographs of the really old cities in the Tuscany/Italy. Later I made wonderful dark sepia prints of them which decorate the walls of my livingroom now.
Since Erfurt has a nice medieval city centre, I decided to try the same here. Again I grabbed my bike and went through the city to find the spots I have discovered on Google before or I have seen in the past and always thought: Must do a photo one day here!
Goal was to have no people on the photographs. This is why some really famous spots are missing in the series. Will do them later. As there will be no trees in the frame, it does not matter in which season you do the photographs. So I just have to wait until it gets cold to get rid of all the people…
Anyway – this is what I got so far.
