  • Beach time

Snapshot taken on my daily ride to the beach. Just in case you are still wondering: Yeah, I really like how you can do nearly everything by bike or train on Usedom. No need for a car during vacation.

  • This ain’t California

Was not aware that Germany is having its own oil business. I got the hint on Twitter and decided to do a nice bicycle ride through the island’s outback to find the oil pumps on the Gnitz peninsula. Unusual view for Germany. The last time I had a similar view, was in Inglewood/L.A.

  • Krumminer Allee

Krumminer Allee again. This time on bicycle. I guess there are not many better options to get through the trees here. It was a perfect summer afternoon. And sorry for the blurred vision in the pic. Was not that easy to get the shot done.

  • Morning beach

Summer morning silence at the local beach. Vacation as planned. Waiting for the funny little buggy carrying the cold drinks. Baltic Sea beaches are perfect in my eyes. Apart from th emissing palm trees ;)

  • Urban summer

During my stay at the baltic Sea, I made a short trip to the city of Greifswald. Haven’t been there for ages. I was not even in school when I visited it the last time.

t was a nice surprise. Many young people, a nice and historic city centre and some nice looking bars and restaurants. It seems to have that typical flair of a university city like my hometown Jena.

After having a coffee break on a boat on the nearby river I went back to the town square and I found this guy playing awesome folk music to the audience sitting in the restaurants around the square. On a summer day. In the late afternoon. Loved it!

  • Never did this pic in sand before

It already became my own tradition: whenever hitting a beach I have to take a pic of my feet. This time in the marvelous sand at the baltic sea.

  • Aufgeinselt

A quick snapshot I took on arrival at Usedom island. About to cross the “Peenebrücke” which spans the river Peene between mainland Germany and the island. Crossing the river gives this nice feeling of “having arrived”,

  • Baltic Sea here I come!

This photo marked the beginning of this years summer vacations. Again a short trip to Usedom island at the Baltic Sea.

  • Karlshagen Habour Sunset

Sorry for not updating the blog the last weeks. Kinda busy these days. But I’m working to improve my performance here. This photo was taken at Karlshagen habour, after having a delicious dinner in one of the really nice restaurants there.

I have to admit that more and more I’m getting lazy in carrying the DSLR with me. This photo was taken and edited with and iPhone 4S. Incredible how the quality of phone cameras have improved over the last couple of years. Also the post processing on the phone is insane. But this does not mean I will throw the DSLR in the bin. It’s used for the more specific photographs like portraits.

  • Yeah! Baltic Sea.

As the years before, I went to the Baltic Sea. Again Usedom Island. For me the best spot on Germany’s Baltic Sea coast line.
The picture shows the first thing I did on arrival. And I think it is a new aim in life: doing this in as many seas as possible.

(posting this with the awareness that this pose is one of the most often used poses and angles on vacation shots shared on Facebook and other social networks. Only beaten by Hotdog legs)
